July 23-24 in Bewdley
Training of Wyre woodfuel ‘champions’ will be delivered
over two days by Heartwoods in partnership with the
Forestry Research, who are the research agency of the
Forestry Commission. The training will cover:

Woodfuel types and standards
-
Woodfuel supply chain organisation

Woodfuel supply chain costs

Woodfuel boiler types
-
Boiler sizing
-
Assessment of fuel requirements

Assessing woodland for woodfuel potential, in terms
of access, tree species and volume.

Common Pitfalls
There will also be site visits to an existing
installation and presentation from a local wood fuel

A Week in the Woods
22-26 September. For anyone interested in coppicing
and woodland crafts, topics covered:
Coppicing and woodland management, green
woodworking, hurdle making and a visit to Prickly
Nut Wood, managed by Ben Law.
Cost £120 – £220. Upon completion, there is an
option to apply for a 3 year apprenticeship.
